Cisco Connected Teacher Badge

The Cisco Connected Teacher Badge is for a classroom teacher that is using Webex before, during and after class to impact the culture of student learning within their own classroom.  This badge will enable you to explore new pedagogical approaches while using Webex Teams in your classroom and determine the effectiveness of using collaboration tools. Educators will gain the following competencies which are aligned to ISTE Standards for Educators.

To Earn this Badge

Estimated time to complete, including Virtual Field Trip: 10 hours

  • Join the Connected Teacher Community (ISTE 2c)

  • The Cisco Virtual Field Trip Teacher Badge or the Cisco Collaboration Teacher Badge is a prerequisite for this badge.

  • Submit an Intent to Participate form to CILC.

  • Read over Webex Teams instructions here  and download the free Webex Teams App, then attend a Webex training (30 min) live workshop. CILC staff will work with you to schedule your live workshop at a time of your convenience. (ISTE 5c)

  • Review the Cisco Webex Privacy and Security FAQ for Webex use with minors

  • Use the CILC Collaboration Center site to post and find 2 or more teachers to collaborate with. (ISTE 1b)

  • Find one article (suggested beginning point here) to support the use of collaboration tools with students. Write a 200-300 word summary.(ISTE 1c)

  • Document the Collaboration experience by creating a video recording about your Collaboration experience (5-10 minutes) and written artifacts (200-300 words) of the Collaboration experience. Possible Topics for Video Recordings (ISTE 4a)

  • Submit artifacts of learning:

    • Video recording to be posted in the VBrick Repository here.

    • written artifacts documenting the Collaboration experience.

    • professional article summary and link to article or digital copy of article

    • Make sure that you provide a video release for yourself and any other individuals in your recording, including students. You may submit your district’s release form or submit the CILC Release.

  • Post a comment on the Connected Teacher Community about your classroom environment and how it has been impacted as you have used collaboration tools and follow-up with any comments generated. (ISTE 1b)
